Winter Birdwatching
-Winter is a great time to watch the birds; they can't hide from us in the trees being the leaves. The cardinals dot the drab landscape like cheery red hearts; little love notes. Even the grey and brown birds, which are most common, are sweet to watch either hopping and hunting on the ground or flitting from branch to branch and always their sweet chirps, tweets and songs. Water draws them near even more than food and it's especially important to provide it for them in freezing temps. The reward far outweighs the trouble. Fix yourself a cup of tea, sit by the window and just watch these gifts from above.
