The Year of the Horse

-

I knew that 2026 was the year of the horse but hadn't looked into exactly what that meant. I posted my horse prints on Instagram and got the most inspiring message. This IG friend said it so beautifully that, with her permission, I'm quoting her here:

"When I came across what the Year of the Horse represents, it stopped me in my tracks. It felt exactly like what our little family has been walking through. Growth. Momentum. Strength. Movement. And the line that keeps sticking with me--Now we're running. Running the race before us with clarity and strength-- That's it. That's us. I need this (artwork) as a reminder of the season we're in and how far we've come."

I love that and feel it, too.

If you want a marker or reminder for similar reasons, maybe one of my little horses could be that for you. Or, if you are simply a horse-crazy person or know one (we have one in our family!) this might be for you. They are small but made with great love.

These are Linocut prints on fine watercolor paper. The print measures 3.25"x2" and comes in a 5x7 soft white mat, ready for framing. Each print is pulled individually so there will be some variation from print to print.

A bit about the process: I image is drawn onto the Lino, then carved to make a printing block. Whatever is cut out will be the white area.

The block is then used to "pull" prints making each piece an original. Each one is made by me, one at a time.

The printing ink is archival as well as the fine art paper. The number of the prints will be limited but there are multiples in different colors.

Maybe I'll make a Linocut course!
