I left for Austin early one morning and this was the scene that made me stop the car and pull out my camera.
There are not many things more peaceful and pastoral than grazing cattle.

I think this one wanted to get in with me and go. I was tempted…

This one is my favorite; the bright, green, new grass…the trees and hills turning from green to blue as they recede into the horizon…the big, blue sky. You can almost see forever.
Talk about happy cows…and a happy me!

>Mary! I love the cow photos… future paintings perhaps???

I just posted my grandmother’s Fudgey Chocolate Pie recipe on my blog. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine.

>I always want to stop and take photos of the cattle while I am on the road, but I never take the time to do that. I am impressed you take the time. I thought of you recently when I was near Waco and saw some cows like the Oreo cows in your post a year ago. They had the opposite though with the black stripe in the middle and the rest of the cow was white. Hmm, do you think A&M has been playing around with their genes? I should have stopped and taken their picture!

>Mary, I understand how the grazing cattle made you feel. They make the grass look so tasty it makes you want to eat some yourself! I love your paintings.

>Hey Mary, Thanks for the compliments on my blog…I don’t post nearly as much as I used to. Something about having a 2.5 year old! But I have a ton of archives you can read! :)

Nan doesn’t have a blog, though she should. Her boys (and Spencer) are HILARIOUS. At least she writes everything down. Someday I’m sure I’ll compile a best seller for her!

>I am very happy to discover your blog. Your farm name even has my name in it (Terra) and I see we share the love of many authors including Miss Read.
I co-authored a book with 2 wonderful ladies who live in Texas, so that is a further affinity.
Hi there from California.
