High Cotton Art Camp!

Monday, July 9, 2012

My friend, Roxanne, and I are planning a one-day workshop at her lovely home in Temple, Texas. I am leaving for Atlanta in the morning and am in my usual rush, so I’ve copied and pasted the details below from her blog. There are cute pictures on her post, but I couldn’t get them to show up here, so…just the info, but it is guaranteed to be a good time!!!

painted painted bunting

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Since this bird I painted is called a painted bunting, the blog post title seems right. These birds live in our area from April through August and never cease to amaze us with their brilliant colors and pretty song. We have at least two pairs coming to the feeder this year and I take lots of pictures, but since I can’t even come close to the talent and skill of wildlife photographer, Ray Downs, I painted this one of his, with permission. If you love birds and other beauties of nature, you will want to visit his site.

gift wrap

Monday, April 16, 2012

When you live 30 miles from everywhere, you learn to use what you’ve got. I had an emergency gift-wrapping situation and not much time to come up with something special. Small kraft envelopes, burlap, my tiny prints on twill, and twine were laying around from other projects and just fit the bill. You could achieve the same look using your own images on cloth or paper. I hope whatever’s inside is as cute as the outside. It’s been a while and I can’t remember! Shoud I be worried???

new art…and rain!

Saturday, February 18, 2012

This has been a happy week for me…I’m finally squeezing in some time in the studio! Above, A Pair…

Doodle Doo…

Clementines…

This is a nice, rainy day to be inside blogging, etc. The creek that winds around our house is dry 99% of the time, but after two days and 2″ of rain, it is flowing and babbling. Oh, how I wish it were always like this! It is all the sweeter, though, because of the rarity.

This is old news, but it is taking me a while to get the hang of my new blog. Above, is our Atlanta booth…

hello world!

Welcome to my new shopping site. The only thing that would make this better would be a little bell jingling when you walk in the door. But, instead, I’ll bring my little world to you. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, get comfy, and look around. Notice there are two sections for shopping: Prints and Wall Decor, where you’ll find gallery-quality prints,  and Fig Marmalade, the line of home decor and gifts. Check the blog for the goings on at the farm and, of course, new art and product debuts.

Whether you are shopping for your home or a gift or just looking for beauty and inspiration, I hope you find it here.

{If you love my site and are looking for a great, I-can’t-say-enough-good-things-about-him web designer, contact James at Confit Designs. It has been wonderful working with him on this project and I couldn’t be happier with the results!}
